Your development
At Uniac progression doesn’t come through job titles and status symbols. Instead, we invest heavily in your learning and development. We want to equip you with the ability and confidence to identify your own opportunities for career advancement.
We do this by:
- Discussing with you how you would like to further develop your career. We don’t just do this at appraisal time; this is fundamental to your development, so its an ongoing process
- Jointly identifying a learning and development plan
Then we:
- Offer financial support for any agreed professional development
- Grant generous time off for study leave
This varies from individual to individual and where you may be at in your career.
We have supported staff during their studies with:
- Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
- Institute of Internal Auditors
- Institute of Risk Management
- Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development
But if you can identify a different personal development opportunity; and provide us with a clear business case for the investment; then we’ll willingly consider other options with you.
Staff also regularly:
- Attend seminars of professional and personal interest
- Attend IACON and HEFCE conferences
- Attend a number of short training courses for example on effective communications, or equality and diversity
Learning and development is one of the key areas that makes us different from other internal audit providers. We also have access to some fantastic courses via our members.
We recognise that you are an individual. We want to:
- Help you develop skills and expertise in areas that you are interested and excited by
- offer our members the very highest calibre of staff
